Following are the event scheduled on the restaurant’s opening week: $2 Coronas opening day; two tacos, chips and a drink for $4.99 Dec. 18; Give Back Day Dec. 19, with 20 percent of the day’s sales donated to Harry Chapin Food Bank; Throwback Thursdaze with a Tijuana-size burrito, chips and a drink for $5.99 Dec. 20; live music with giveaways from 6-9 p.m. Dec. 21; Local Hero Day Dec. 22, with 50-percent off an entrée for EMTs, police, military, teachers and firefighters with proper I.D.; and kids eat free with the purchase of an adult entrée Dec. 23.
Furthermore, the new restaurant location in Fort Myers property will feature Tijuana Flats? fresh, made-to-order menu and a 15-pump hot sauce bar. According to reports, the 2,050-square-foot restaurant can cater to 102 guests: 70 indoor and 32 on the patio. The brightly colored mural on the wall portrays a spectacular, blue-haired vixen traveling through the restaurant in her Ford “Model T” hot rod.
According to Sowder’s report, the new Tijuana Flat’s restaurant will have energy-efficient equipment like light emitting diode lamps, solar powered kitchen timers, low-flow toilets, dining room tiles made from 40-percent pre-consumer recycled materials and a tank less water heater.
For people who like healthy and delicious meals, they are for a treat, Tijuana Flats uses zero trans-fatty acids cooking oils, 100-percent hormone free, white meat chicken, fresh produce and all of its menu items have been lard free. Moreover, hungry customers can select from a variety of flour or whole-wheat tortillas and tacos. They also serve burritos, quesadillas, chimichangas and flautas.
