Fort Myers-Cape Coral Ranks 41st in Real Estate Searches


According to the latest report of news-press.com, in October, Fort Myers-Cape Coral was the 41st most searched city in the United States real estate market. The data was released by Realtor.com which also mentioned other beautiful cities in Florida like Naples, listed 76th and Punta Gorda, listed 145th. The most searched city in the real estate market was Chicago, IL. home to over 2.7 million residents, the third-largest in the United States, after New York and Los Angeles.

During the month of October, the average list price for Cape Coral properties in the market was $240,000, which is a 9.6 percent increase from last year. Based on the report, the national average in October was the same as last year which is $189,900. Moreover, in October, the inventory of homes for sale in Fort Myers-Cape Coral was 9,393, which is a 16 percent decrease from October 2011. The national inventory was down by 17 percent from last year’s record.

You may be wondering why many are interested to look for properties in Fort Myers and Cape Coral.  Fort Myers and Cape Coral are located at Lee County, Southwest Coast of Florida. Fort Myers is the county seat and Cape Coral is considered the most populous municipality. These two have changed drastically over the past few years with recent changes being the booming buildings, businesses and new developments.

There has been a rush to meet the demands for housing and recreation. Most of the supermarkets and shopping centers in the areas are new. Although, new establishments are being developed in Fort Myers and Cape Coral, the older downtown area and the City of Fort Myers historic districts retained much of its charisma. Proper preservation measures are done to make sure that the charm of the city will still be treasured by the coming generations.
